Sometimes when we look at backyards of smaller homes, we think that there’s no way a pool is an option for me! Additionally, “shotgun” style homes are often on narrow lots, and homeowners may think that they have no viable options for a pool. We would like to introduce you to the lap pool.

Making the best of small spaces, a lap pool is typically at least four feet deep, and can have whatever length your yard will allow. These styles of pools are fantastic for exercise, and cooling off. Be aware, they still require the proper permits and safety requirements that a full feature pool must-have.

Often the property lots being sold for new construction in the Lakewood Ranch and Parrish areas use up as much of the plot as possible for building the initial property. But during the planning process, if a small strip of land can be reserved, lap pools are a great cost-effective solution for maximizing the amount of space on your plot.

We highly recommend that lap pools be at least 40 feet long for people who plan on using them for serious exercise. Lap pools are relatively easier to build than above-ground pools as well, because of their simple rectangular shape. This helps keep costs down for builders and make them a very practicable and affordable option.
